Andrew Milton Layne, the son of Alexander Shroyer and Mary Axton, was born 21 Aug 1835 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania.

Andrew married Mary Louisa Dragoo 24 Dec 1857 in Marion County, (W) Virginia. Their children were Arthur Alonzo, Sarah Artlissa, Corbin Core, Marshal, George Milton and Andrew Wayne.

The death of Andrew M. Shroyer occurred 11 Mar 1893 and he is buried at Davis Ridge Cemetery, Monongah, Marion County, West Virginia. Mary Louisa died 10 Jul 1915 and is also buried there.
