Milton Bailey White was born in Greene County, Pennsylvania, 10 Feb 1843, to Zachariah G. White and Margaret Fleming. He was a farmer and at age 19, he enrolled at Cameron, W. Va. and mustered in 23 Aug 1862 at Wheeling, W. Va. Promoted to 1st Sergeant 23 Aug 1862. Died of typhoid 07 Apr 1863, Winchester, VA. (Headstone indicates that he was "20y/1m/28d" old at the time of his death.) He is buried on the Fletcher Farm Cemetery in Marshall County, WV. He was a first cousin of Zachariah A. White, Assistant Surgeon of the 1st West Virginia Cavalry.
