JOHN KIMMINS, Company "K"
John Kimmins was born in Washington county, Pennsylvania, January 19, 1818, and was educated in the log school house of the early days. He enlisted in August, 1862, in Company K., Twelfth West Virginia regiment, served three years, is farming, and he owns seventy-five acres of land. On the 3d of March, 1842, he was married to Eleanor A. Ferrel. They have six children - Samuel W., Joseph F., Sarah J., John N., Esther A. and Thomas W.

JOHN S. KIMMINS, born 19 January 1818 in Dallas, Marshall County, VA(?); died 15 June 1896 in Ohio County, WV. He was the son of Andrew Kimmins and Mary Latimore. He married Eleanor A. Ferrell 20 March 1842 in Ohio County, VA.Eleanor A. Ferrell, born 26 June 1819 in VA; died 06 October 1906.
Children of John Kimmins and Eleanor Ferrell are:
i. Samuel W. Kimmins, born Abt. 1843 in VA; died 17 February 1914 in Marshall County, VA; married Mary M. Mooney. Son, Samuel W. Kimmins, served in the Co. "D", 1st W.Va. Infantry & Co. "G", 2nd W.Va. Vet. Inf. (His W. Va. "Honorably Discharged" medal is owned by Linda Fluharty.)ii. Joseph F. Kimmins, born 1846 in VA; died 1924; married Sarah Sabrina ???; born 1852; died Aft. 1900.
iii. Sarah J. Kimmins, born Abt. 1849 in VA.
iv. John N. Kimmins, born Abt. 1853 in VA.
v. Esther A. Kimmins, born Abt. 1855 in VA.
vi. Thomas W. Kimmins, born April 1860 in VA; married (1) Barbara C. ???; born Abt. 1856 in VA; died 22 December 1886; married (2) Sophia Bell Crupe Abt. 1887; born December 1865 in PA. They had six children: Joseph Milton Kimmins, Thomas William Kimmins, John W. Kimmins, Paul Apostle Kimmins (my grandfather), Nellie Ann Kimmins and Louise “Lulie” Kimmins.
