Francis H. Peirpoint, Jr., was born in Ritchie County, W. Va. October 2, 1841, a son of Joseph W. and Lurennah H. (Barns) Peirpoint, both deceased. He enlisted August 13, 1826 in Company F 12th West Virginia Infantry, as a private, then to sergeant-major, then to second lieutenant, then first lieutenant, then to captain. He served with honor until the close of the war receiving discharge at Richmond, Virginia June 16, 1865. At Fairmont, Marion County, in October 1881, Francis H. Peirpoint and Mrs. Mary N. Hollifield Camden were united in marriage. He has his residence in Ritchie County but his postoffice address is Fairmont, Marion County, W. Va.
