ANDREW K. RITCHEY (B 12 W.Va. Inf.) - Service Record: At age 18, joined for duty & enrolled on Aug. 13, 1862 at Moundsville; mustered in at Wheeling on Aug. 20, 1862. “Born Marshall Co., Va.” “Died of Double Pneumonia in hospital at Cumberland, Md., Nov. 30, 1862.” - At the time of the 1850 census of Marshall County, his age is stated as 5. In 1860, he was 14, which indicates he probably overstated his age in order to enlist. He was the son of John and Margaret (Kimmins) Richey. The Service Record cards are filed under the spelling “Ritchey.”
