OBITUARY

Helen Kane, 91, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Country Meadows, Bridgeville. She was born, June 24, 1920 in Scottdale, a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Zozula. She was a graduate of Scottdale High School, Class of 1938, and St. Francis Nursing School, Class of 1951. She was Registered Nurse at Connellsville State General Hospital. She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Greensburg.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband and best friend of 48 years, George R. Kane, and brothers John, Theodore, and Jack Zozula.

She is survived by her loving children: C. Jeffrey Kane of Greensburg, James (Dawn) Kane of Pittsburgh, Susan (Scott) Ellis of Pittsburgh, and Shawn (Carolyn) Kane of Virginia; four grandchildren: Tyler, Nicholas, George, and Lily; a brother William Zozula of Scottdale; and two sisters: Marge Moody of W. Newton and Mae Rich of Scottdale and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Helen will be remembered for her gentleness, patience, and kindness. She lived her life for her family, and was especially proud of her four grandchildren. She was a lifelong Pirate and Steeler fan, and looked forward to her monthly card games with her brother and sisters. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. Panachida Service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday. A Liturgy Service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg.
