MARGARET MAY ZADERSKY

Class of 1926

"Zadersky" was spelled "Ziesdersky" in the 1930 Federal Census of Allegheny County. John Ziesdersky, 54, a coal miner, resided at 6366 Monitor Street, Squirrel Hill, with his wife Julia, both born in Hungary. John immigrated in 1894, and Julia (Soltis/Soltes) in 1904. Their children, all born in Pennsylvania, were Margaret, 24, a nurse; Grace, 22, a stenographer; Ernest, 21, a railroad worker, and Irene, 14.

Neither Margaret nor Grace married, but Irene married Charles Volbrecht in 1938, and Ernest married Helen Glace in 1939.

At the time of the 1940 Federal Census of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Margaret Zadersky, age 34, was residing with her sister, Grace, 32. No occupation is given for Margaret, but she owned her home at 6366 Monitor Street, Squirrel Hill, worth $10,000. A November 1935 article in the Pittsburgh Press indicates that Grace Zadersky was the victim of a serial robber near her home.

MARGARET ZADERSKY was born 06 August 1905, obtained her Social Security Card in Pennsylvania, and died February 1972. Her last known residence was Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida. Grace, born in 1907, also obtained her Social Security Card in Pennsylvania, and then died in Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida in 1989.
