OBITUARY
Ralph J. Zaccagnini, 77, of Vandergrift died Saturday (Oct. 27, 2001) at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, Harrison, where he was a patient one week.
He was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Beliare, Ohio, and lived in the Kiski Valley most of his life.
An Army veteran of World War II, he served with the 8th Air Force stationed in England.
He retired in 1984 from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Pittsburgh, where he was a registered nurse.
Mr. Zaccagnini was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, Kiski Valley Opportunities Unlimited, Knights of Columbus, Third Degree, and the American Legion, all in Vandergrift.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Theresa A. Pocetti Zaccagnini; a son, Joseph R. Zaccagnini of Leechburg; a daughter, Maria Zaccagnini of Vandergrift; two grandchildren; and a sister, Irene Settino of Levittown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Esther Vespa Zaccagnini, and two brothers, Julius and Fred Zaccagnini.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 429 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Gertrude Church, Vandergrift, with the Rev. Leo Rothrauff officiating. Burial will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery mausoleum, Vandergrift. Knights of Columbus Council 3174, Alle-Kiski, will conduct a service at 8:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
