Helen Yaros, 20, was residing at the St. Francis Nurses' Home at the time of the 1940 Federal Census. The census indiocates that she had lived in Starford, Indiana County, Pennsylvania in 1935.

Helen, born November 29, 1919 in Starford, Pennsylvania, was the daughter of Andrew Yaros, a coal miner, and Mary Cesowski, both born in Austria.

In May 1948, Helen Yaros, 28, a Graduate Nurse, was residing at 4532 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh. She married Francis J. Hickey, born July 8, 1920, the son of Frank A. Hickey and Helen Griffitts. The marriage took place at Swissvale, Allegheny County on May 15, 1948.

"Penny" Rihn of Franklin Park and her late husband, Leo J. III, Kathleen M. Staas and her husband, James, of Gibsonia, Thomas F. Hickey and his wife, Mary Ann, of Gibsonia, and the late Suzanne Yahner and her husband, James, of Allison Park, Mary Ann Naccarelli and her husband, Frank, of Venetia and Bernadette Ledwich and her husband, Peter, of Level Green. Loving grandmother of Leo IV and his wife, Jennifer, Thomas, Erin and Jeanette Rihn, Deborah and Lauren Staas, Emily and Matthew Hickey, Jacqueline Yahner, Christopher, Justin and Sean Naccarelli, Bernadette, Peter, Jonathan and Brian Ledwich. Great-grandmother of Ashley Rihn. Also survived by a brother, Joseph Yaros, of Ohio; and two sisters, Agnes Sullivan, of Pittsburgh and Theresa Rigo, of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Helen was a graduate of the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, where she worked as a registered nurse until becoming a full-time mother. Her most prized passion was enjoying life with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME INC., 7441 Washington St., Swissvale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday in St. Anselm Church at 1 p.m. The family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15220.
