OBITUARY
C. Aileen Byrnes, 95, of Greensburg, formerly of Duquesne and White Oak, died May 5, 2008, at St. Anne Home, Greensburg. She was born January 21, 1913, in Duquesne to the late William and Rose Raible Wolf.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Duquesne, where she served on parish council, member and past president of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and Guild, and past president of L.C.B.A. Branch 637.
She was a retired registered nurse at St. Francis Hospital and a graduate of their School of Nursing. She was a member of St. Francis Medical Center Alumni Association.
She was the beloved wife for 72 years to the late Andrew A. Byrnes, who died July 24, 2007.
Mother of William A. (Helen Tasevich) Byrnes, Beaver; the Rev. Robert R. Byrnes, Greensburg, and the late Carol Ann Alexander and the late Janice Byrnes Davis, who died May 1, 2008, she was the mother-in-law of Merlyn L. Alexander, in Minnesota, and Philip Davis, North Huntingdon; grandmother of Laura Torgerud and William Alexander, both in Minnesota; Christopher Byrnes, Arlington, Va.; Martin Byrnes, Beaver; David Byrnes, Chicago; Philip Davis, Milton, Pa.; Robert Davis, Pittsburgh, and Joseph Davis, North Huntingdon, and great-grandmother of Dylan and Chase Alexander, Meghan and Philip Davis II, Abigail Torgerud, Benjamin Byrnes and Zachary Byrnes. She was the sister-in-law of Robert E. Byrnes of Orlando, John P. Byrnes of West Mifflin, Joseph C. Byrnes of Buena, N.J., F. James Byrnes of Hastings, Patrick D. Byrnes of Parma, Ohio, M. Elaine Byrnes of Hastings, M. Carmine Lieb of Nicktown, Betty Byrnes of Forest Hills, and the late William L. Byrnes, J. Richard Byrnes and Betsy E. Gill, and sister of the late W. Harold Wolf, Cyril A. Wolf and Marian L. Wolf. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held today from 2 to 9 p.m. in the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, Pa., 412-466-3300. Concelebrated Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph Church, Duquesne, on Monday at 10 a.m. with her son, the Rev. Robert R. Byrnes as the main celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church, Duquesne, or St. Anne Home, Greensburg.
