VICTORIA WISOCKI RIESENMAN

Class of 1934

Victoria Wisocki, born July 11, 1913, was the daughter of Felix Wisocki and Veronica Margaret Koslosky of Dudley, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.

She served in the Amry Nurse Corps during World War II, and married Dr. Francis Regis Riesenman on January 8, 1943. A 1940 graduate of Georgetown University, he was a psychiatrist.

F. [Francis] Regis Riesenman, born November 10, 1909, died June 1, 1990. Victoria died May 14, 1999. They are buried at Saint James Cemetery, Falls Church, Virginia.

HUSBAND'S OBITUARY--- Dr. F. R. Riesenman, 81, Arlington psychiatrist -- Dr. Francis Regis Riesenman, 81, an Arlington psychiatrist and neurologist, died of Parkinson's disease June 1 at Arlington Hospital. - A native of Franklin, Pa., Dr. Riesenman was a graduate of St. Vincent's College in Latrobe, Pa. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University in 1940. - He began his private practice in psychiatry and neurology at his Arlington home in 1947. He retired in 1980. - Specializing in parapsychology and extrasensory perception, Dr. Riesenman lectured to 1,500 groups across the country and appeared on television and radio. - An amateur magician, he performed card tricks in his lectures about phenomena that have no apparent explanation. - During his medical career, Dr. Riesenman was a staff psychiatrist at St. Elizabeths Hospital, a director of the Virginia Health Department's alcoholic rehabilitation clinic and a consultant and expert witness in Virginia and Washington federal courts. - Dr. Riesenman served in the Army Medical Corps in Texas during World War II. - Dr. Riesenman is survived by his wife of 47 years, Victoria W. Riesenman; four sons, Robert of Hammond, Ind., Victor of Arlington, Michael of Springfield and John of Colton, Calif.; three daughters, Mary Riesenman of Arlington and Carolyn Riesenman and Victoria Myers of Falls Church; a brother, Martin Riesenman of Franklin; a sister, Cecelia Ellis of Green Valley, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren. - A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. James Catholic Church in Falls Church, with burial in St. James Cemetery. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Visiting Nurse Association of Northern Virginia in Arlington or Arlington County Residences Inc.
