Mary Catherine Widenhofer, born February 11, 1924, was the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Cramer?) Widenhofer of Butler County, Pennsylvania.

On September 1, 1947, Mary Catherine married Angelo Phillip Fello, born August 15, 1917 in Sharpsburg, Allegheny County. His parents, Lawrence and Carmella (Ciriello) Fello, were born in Italy.

Justine Yarmeak, St. Francis Class of 1946-A, married Daniel Fello, the brother of Angelo, on January 23, 1947.

HUSBAND'S OBITUARY--- FELLO, ANGELO P. - Age 85, of Point Breeze, on Thursday, March 20, 2003; beloved husband of Mary Catherine (Widenhofer) Fello; father of Joseph P. Fello, Maryanne Fello, Carolyn Miller and Robert E. Fello; grandfather of Joseph, Stephanie, Blaise and Hilary Fellow and Mary Catherine and Dale Miller, and Nicole, Robert, Francesca and William Fello; brother of the late William, Anthony, Joseph and Daniel Fello; son of the late Lorenzo and Carmela Fello. Friends will be received on Saturday 7-9 pm, and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the WINTER FUNERAL HOME, 4730 Friendship Ave. Funeral Monday 10 am. OBITUARY -- FELLO MARY C. (WIDENHOFER)-- Age 94, of Point Breeze, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Friday, May 11, 2018. Beloved wife for 56 years of the late Angelo P. Fello; loving mother of Joseph (Karen) Fello, Maryanne (Lea) Fello, Carolyn (Joseph Worsk) Miller, and Robert (Jo Ann) Fello; sister of Ethelreda Welter and Eugene Widenhofer; grandmother of Joseph, Stephanie, Blaise, Hilary, Mary Catherine, Dale, Nicole, Robert, Francesca, and William; great-grandmother of Dylan, Nicole, Christina, Angelo, and Asa; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was born in 1924 in Great Belt (Butler), PA. She graduated with her RN from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1944 as part of the Cadet Nurse Corps of the US Army. For over 40 years she worked as an RN at St. Francis General Hospital in labor and delivery, rehabilitation and the "Short Stay" department. In 1980 she graduated with a BA degree from LaRoche College. Mary was a lifetime parishioner of Holy Rosary R. C. Church of St. Charles Lwanga Parish. She became an Associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1985. In 2012 she received the Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service for her 17 years of volunteer work at Forbes Hospice. Mary loved cooking, baking and was an avid knitter. She was known for her pie crust recipe and her autumn canning of tomatoes and peaches. Above all, Mary unconditionally loved her children and their spouses, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Friends and family will be received from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday at MAURICE L. KNEE, LTD. FUNERAL HOME, 7663 Saltsburg Rd., (across from S & T Bank) Plum, PA 15239. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, (time to be announced), St. Bartholomew R. C., Penn Hills. Interment will follow in Allegheny Cemetery, Lawrenceville.
