OBITUARY--- Mary E. Weyers Story, 100 of Fairview and formerly of Erie, died Friday, May 21, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family She was born March 17, 1910 in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Harry and Eva Beil Weyers. She grew up in Steubenville until age 16 and moved to Greentree, Pa. She resided there to her marriage in 1934. Mary lived in the Pittsburgh area until 1951 when she relocated to Erie and worked at St. Vincent Hospital as a registered nurse, retiring from there in 1972. She has lived with her daughter since 1975. Mary was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fairview and assisted there in the kitchen, and was also a member of the Legion of Mary. She loved knitting, reading, crossword puzzles, bird watching and growing indoor plants. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Shook in 1991; sisters Margaret Hammer and Catherine Weyers; and brothers William Weyers, Lawrence Weyers and James Weyers. Mary will be deeply missed by her daughter, Barbara L. Walk and her husband Robert of Fairview; her grandson, Allan J. Shook and his wife Tracy of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; her great-grandchildren, Madison Shook and Emily Shook; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard. Further calling will be held on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 7100 West Ridge Rd., Fairview, PA 16415., with Rev. Scott Detisch officiating. Entombment will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
