Gordon Charles Watt was born June 12, 1902 to Walter M. Watt, a coal miner, and Matilda (Krotendorfer) Watt, of Carrolltown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. At the time of the 1910 Federal Census, he had one sister, Ruth M. By 1920, he also had a brother, Edmond (also found as Edmund).
In 1930, Gordon C. Watt, single, was a roomer on South Fairmount Avenue, Pittsburgh. He was an orderly in a hospital. By 1940, he was living on Kincaid Avenue, Pittsburgh, and was employed as a "male nurse Allegheny County."
MOTHER'S OBITUARY--- Union Press Courier, Patton, PA, August 1970 - Mrs. Matilda (Krotendorfer) Watt, age 90, one of the Carrolltown community's oldest and best known residents, passed away at her home on East Carroll Street at about 2:00 a.m., this Wednesday, Aug. 19, following a brief illness. - A native and life-long resident of Carrolltown, Mrs. Watt was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, and 2 sons, Gordon and Edmund. - Mrs. Watt is survived by one daughter, Ruth, wife of Anthony (Tony) Dluzansky, Carrolltown; and 4 grandchildren, John Dluzansky of Patton; Mrs. Mary Faith Zanoviak of Baltimore, Md.; and Donald and Mark Watt, both of Ebensburg. Also surviving is 1 great-grandchild. - She was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church and its Altar-Rosary Society, Carrolltown; and Patton Chapter of Women of the Moose and the Patton ICBU. - Friends will be received at the Fred J. Stevens Funeral Home, Carrolltown, tentatively this Thursday from 7 to 10 and Friday 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday morning in St. Benedict's Church with interment in the church cemetery.
Gordon C. Watt, never married, died of cancer on October 13, 1961 at Carrolltown. He is buried at Saint Benedicts Catholic Cemetery, Carrolltown, Cambria County, Pa.
