Teresa Marie "Terri" Vojtilla's parents were Stephen Michael Vojtilla (1881-1963) and Mary Lach (1887-1978). Mr. Vojtilla was born in Czechoslovakia and he immigrated in 1902. For the most part, the family resided in Ford City, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.
At the time of the 1940 Federal Census, Steve and Mary Vojtilla were living in Ford City with the following children: John A., Steve M., Julia A., Sophie H., Tony A., and Thressa M.
Terri Vojtilla is named as a member of the Duquesne University Alumni Association, Class of 1956. Teresa Marie Vojtilla is listed as a graduate of the School of Nursing at the University of Pittsburgh in 1961.
OBITUARY - Teresa (Terri) Vojtilla, 100, former longtime resident of Ford City, died Monday, June 26, 2023, at Rosebrook Assisted Living in Sarver.
She was born January 7, 1923, in Ford City to Steve and Mary Lach Vojtilla.
Terri was a graduate of the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. She also received a bachelors from Duquesne University and a masters from the University of Pittsburgh. She remained a member of the St. Francis Alumni Association until her death. She was an evening nurse supervisor at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center in Aspinwall for many years before her retirement.
She was a member of Christ, Prince of Peace Parish in Ford City, as well as a member of the former Holy Trinity Church.
She is survived by her beloved sister Sophie Vojtilla; nephews Dennis Vojtilla (Charlene); Greg Pachol (Renee); and Steve Vojtilla (Beth); and nieces Geraldine Vojtilla and Vanessa Vojtilla; and niece-in-law Donna Mansfield. Her grandnieces Kylie, Nicole, Kayla, and Stephanie brought her great joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Julie Vojtilla and another sister who died in infancy; and brothers John Vojtilla, Steve Vojtilla and Tony Vojtilla, as well as nephew Donald Mansfield.
Terri will be remembered for her generous and caring nature, as well as the smiles and laughter she shared with everyone.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 3 starting at 9:30 am (family members) and 10:00 a.m. (friends) at the Mantini Funeral Home, 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City. A Mass of Christian Burial will also be held on July 3, starting at 11:00 a.m. at Christ, Prince of Peace Parish, 718 Fourth Ave., Ford City with Father Eric Dinga officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Manor.
