A 1949 newspaper article indicates that Sally Vogel was a student nurse at Mercy Hospital. Perhaps she was initially, but she graduated from St. Francis.

Sally Ann Vogel - the only one found - is the sister of Helena V. Vogel, a graduate of the Class of 1954-A. They were both daughters of Max and Isabel (Cost) Vogel of Indiana Borough, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.

The Vogel family children, as listed in the 1940 Federal Census, were Richard, Thomas, Sally Ann, Maxine, and Helena.

Sally married Bernard J. Flinn. They had six children and he died in 1977.

OBITUARY: Sally Vogel Flinn, age 91 of Pittsburgh, PA formerly of Indiana, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 17, 2022. Born on November 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Isabelle and Max Vogel. Beloved wife to the late Bernard J. Flinn. Loving mother of Helenann (Guy) Lamarca, Mary “Kay” (the late David) Schneider, Bernard (Darlene) Flinn, Jr., Patricia (Danny) Biondi, Eileen (Michael) Dusch, and son-in-law Paul Dusch. She is the cherished grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Loving sister to Maxine (the late Claire) Seeley and Helena (the late Jack) Kelly and sister-in-law to Shirley Vogel. She was preceded in death by her daughter Maureen Dusch, her granddaughter, Casey Schneider Hill, her brothers, Richard (Sue) Vogel and Thomas Vogel. Sally will also be dearly missed by her special friend, George Mullins.

Sally loved to sew and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
