OBITUARY: Barbara L. Bacha, 85, of Southwest Greensburg, died Sunday, November 13, 2022, at home. She was born September 13, 1937, in Harrison Township, a daughter of the late Albert L. and Marcella R. (Starceski) Vigrass. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Natrona, and St. Francis School of Nursing. Barbara worked as a registered nurse at Westmoreland Hospital and with her husband established the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc. in 1960. She currently served as owner and President with locations in Greensburg and Pleasant Unity. She was a member of St. Paul Parish and its Rosary Altar Society. She had been a member and past President of the Greensburg Junior Women’s Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo M. Bacha; her sister, Arlene Vigrass; and her brother-in-law, Michael W. Bacha. She is survived by her children, Kathleen A. Bacha, of Southwest Greensburg, Kenneth A. Bacha and wife Debbie, of Greensburg, and John M. Bacha, of Pleasant Unity; four grandchildren, Haley M. Bacha, of Pittsburgh, Hilary R. Senerius and husband Michael, of Greensburg, Sydney L. Bacha, of Southwest Greensburg, and Matthew J. Bacha, of Pleasant Unity; her extended granddaughter, Kelsye Hantz and husband Chad, of Greensburg, and their daughter Penelope; her sisters-in-law, Mary “Sis” Welsh, of Bellevue, Michelene Bacha Heller, and Martha Bacha, both of Natrona Heights; several nieces, nephews and cousins; longtime friend and co-worker, Michael W. Schlosser, of Southwest Greensburg; loyal employees of the funeral home who have been with Leo and Barb for years; and several close friends. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday in St. Paul Parish, Greensburg. Please go directly to the church on Thursday. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Hempfield Township. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Parish or to the Southwest Greensburg, Greensburg, or Pleasant Unity Volunteer Fire Departments.


HUSBAND'S OBITUARY--- LEO M. BACHA - Age 70, of Southwest Greensburg, on Monday, July 17, 2006. He was born April 20, 1936 in Natrona, a son of the late Michael L. and Mary (Rusiewicz) Bacha. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Natrona, attended Georgetown University and graduated from Temple University and Eckels College of Embalming, Phil, PA. Leo began his career in the funeral business working at his father's funeral home, the former Michael L. Bacha Funeral Service in Natrona, then moved to Greensburg in 1959 and opened his own business in 1960. He and his wife then established the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., where he currently served as President and Supervisor. Leo was elected Westmoreland County Coroner in 1978 and was serving his sixth term when he retired in 2001 after 24 years of service. He was a member and past president of the Westmoreland-Indiana-Armstrong Counties Funeral Directors Assoc., member and past president of the PA Funeral Directors Assoc., member of the National Funeral Directors Assoc., Allegheny County Funeral Directors Assoc., and a life member of the PA State Coronors Assoc. He was a lifetime member and former officer of Greensburg Vol. Fire Department, Hose Co. #3 and was past Treasurer and currently serving as President of the Greensburg Vol. Fire Dept. He was a member of the Church of St. Paul, Greensburg. He is survived by his wife, Barbara L. (Vigrass) Bacha; three children, Kathleen A. Bacha of Southwest Greensburg, Kenneth A. Bacha and his companion Debbie Milliron of Greensburg and John M. Bacha and his fiance Linda Bando of Pleasant Unity; four grandchildren, Haley M. and Sydney L. Bacha of Southwest Greensburg and Hilary R. and Matthew J. Bacha of Pleasant Unity; his brother Michael W. Bacha and wife Martha of Natrona Hts.; two sisters, Mary "Sis" Welsh of Monroeville and Michelene Bacha Heller of Natrona; his mother-in-law Marcella R. (Starceski) Vigrass and sister-in-law Arlene A. Vigrass, both of Natrona Hts. Friends received at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green Sts., Greensburg, Wed. 7-9 pm and Thurs. 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Prayers in the funeral home at 9 am , Friday followed by Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 am in the Church of St. Paul, Greensburg, with the Rev. Daniel C. Mahoney, as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg. The Greensburg Vol. Fire Dept. and all other fire service organizations will conduct a combined memorial service Thurs. at 7:30 pm in the funeral home.
