At the time of the 1940 Federal Census, they were residents of Wine Street, North Fayette Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. John was employed as a laborer for the W. P. A. (Works Progress Administration).

Nothing more is known about Adeline Vanusek. Her parents are buried at Mount St. Macrina Cemetery, Fayette County.
