DELLA VALIANI

Della Marie/Mary Valiani was born in Washington County, Pennsylvania 21 May 1913. She married Joseph Santini. Her death occurred 9 February 1993.

This Valiani family emigrated from Italy in 1888-1890. Angelo Valiani was 68 in the 1930 Federal Census, and his wife was Mary (Maria). Their son was Vergilio, born 28 June 1886 in Italy. Vergilio's wife, Rose, was born in Italy . Adella and Angelo were the children of Virgilio and Rose. The family owned a meat market.

At the time of the 1940 Federal Census of New Eagle Borough, Washington County, Pennsylvania, "Della" Valiani, 26, a nurse and receptionist at a doctor's office, was residing with her family on Chess Street. Her parents, Virgilio and Rose, were in the home, as well as her brother, Angelo, 22, and grandfather, Angelo.

Except for Della and her brother, Angelo, the Valiani family is buried at Monongahela Cemetery, Washington, Pennsylvania. Angelo, born 6 Feb 1862, died 21 Jan 1953. His wife Maria, born 28 June 1866, died 28 June 1937. Vergilio died 22 Nov 1962, and his wife, Rosie, born 11 July 1893, died 5 July 1981. Apparently, Vergilio had a brother, Albert, born in 1894, who was killed during World War I, on 7 Nov 1918.

Death records indicate that in 1917, Della's 2 year old brother, Vergilio, was burned to death while playing near a bon fire. Brother, Angelo, born in 1918, died in August 1956.
