ELIZABETH TROTTER ROPER, 93, of Orlando, passed away Friday, Oct. 2, 2009. She was born in Fredricktown, PA on Nov. 17, 1915. She attended Bethany College and St. Francis Medical Center School of Nursing, where she became a registered nurse. After graduation, she became a nurse for the Army through WWII. Elizabeth then worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She later moved to Orlando and was a caregiver for the late E. O. Roper. Elizabeth was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Orlando. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Harry Davis Roper, who was a member of one of Orange County's oldest pioneer citrus and farm families, in 1991. She is survived by her son Tony H. Roper and his wife Marianne, and two grandchildren Caroline and Lizzie. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 407-293-1361.
