"Hellen C. Thinz" is found in the 1910 Federal Census of North Versailles, Allegheny County, Pa. Her parents were Mike (1875-1958) and Susie (Kuhn) Thinz, both born in Germany (Austria-Hungary), and Mike was employed by Westinghouse. The parents had given birth to one child in Cleveland, Ohio in 1903, before moving to Pennsylvania. In 1910, Helen's siblings were Edward (b 1903), Mathilda, and Emma A.

In 1920, the family lived in North Braddock. Another daughter, Martha, was born in 1911. She died of Pulmonary Tuberculosis in 1944.

Helen's first husband was Harry Ziegler. Her second husband was John D. Kennelty.

Born April 7, 1907, Helen T. Ziegler Kennelty died June 2, 1986. She is buried at Hillview Cemetery, Greensburg, Westmoreland County, PA. Her brother, Edward Thinz, is also buried there.
