On Thursday, January 11, 2001, age 69, of Pittsburgh; Beloved wife of Alexander C. Speyer, Jr. Loving mother of Earl J. Black II, Kathleen Hope Colicchie and Thomas Speyer. Stepmother of Alex III (Silvia), James (Mary), Timothy and Deborah Speyer. Devoted grandmother of Michelle Colicchie. Step grandmother of Alex IV, Britt, James, Paige, Justin & Ashley Speyer. Born in Coraopolis, Irma was the youngest child of Louis and Berta Szakacs. She was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing and the University of Pittsburgh. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, dancing and was a member of many area organizations, including Rodef Shalom Sisterhood, the Ladies Hospital Aid Society of Western Pennsylvania, the Horticultural Society of Western Pennsylvania and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. In addition, Irma and her husband spent winters in Palm Beach, Florida, where she was a member of the Palm Beach Historical Society.

Services at Rodef Shalom Temple, 4905 Fifth Avenue (at Morewood) on Monday at 1 PM. Visitation 1 hour prior to service (12 noon 1 PM) in the Temple Library.
