Lorraine Sundo and her siblings, Alverda, Francis, Dennis, John, Thelma, Valaray, and Regis, were born to the late Dennis and Margaret Hagerman Sundo.

Lorraine married Donald Russ and had five children.

According to The Franciscan, the St. Francis Alumni Association Newsletter, Fall 2012, Lorraine was named "Outstanding Alumnus" at the 2012 Nurses' Reunion for her contributions to public and community service.

Lorraine earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, and a Masters of Education from Duquesne University.

Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Lorraine graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing, where she was awarded the St. Francis Medical Center School of Nursing Outstanding Alumnus Award in 2012 and earned both her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Education from Duquesne University, all while raising her five wonderful children. She was able to achieve all of her accomplishments through her value system of "first to learn then to teach others" in Health and Education. She was a longtime Brentwood resident and active member of the community. Lorraine dedicated over 40 years with the Brentwood Library and the PTA at both local and state levels. She was an active member of her church, past president and Lifetime Honoree of the Southwestern Nurses Club. Friends will be received at the JOHN F.
