OBITUARY: With deep sadness we announce the death of Mary Louise “Suffie” Forristall (née, Suffoletta), of Deerfield Beach, FL, on Tuesday, June 16th from renal failure following a lengthy period of declining health. - Mary Louise was born on August 24, 1934 to George and Bernice Suffoletta in East Liverpool, OH and was the elder sister to brothers Danny and Jerry. She was a graduate of Midland High School, St. Francis School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, and attended Louisiana State University. After graduating, she began her career as a registered nurse at Charity Hospital, New Orleans, LA. She later enjoyed a lengthy career as a flight attendant and supervisor at Eastern Airlines and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, respectively. - Suffie is preceded in death by her parents and step-granddaughter, Shannon Michelle Pomarico, and is survived by her former husband, Ernest Abernathy, father of her two sons, Scott and Jeff, her former daughter-in-Law, Karen Slazinski and her grandchildren, Jarrod and Lauren of Ocoee, FL. She is mourned by her devoted husband of 31 years, William James Forristall and her step-children, William James Forristall, Jr. (Christy), Anne Forristall Luke (John), Michelle J. Pomarico (Scott), Susie Palensky (David), and Laurie Flow (Shain); ten grandchildren, Michael, David, Jake, Josh, Joseph, Sam, Marylou, Natalie, Maggie, and Gina. - Suffie loved to travel and especially enjoyed cruising, regardless of the destination. She was a great cook and baker to the delight of her family. Her grandchildren will cherish their many memories of visits, shared vacations, and family celebrations. - A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Kraeer–Becker Funeral Home, 217 E Hillsboro Blvd, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441. Social distancing guidelines in accordance with Federal, State and CDC recommendations will be strictly followed. Broward County Regulations require all guests to wear a mask.
