Caroline "Carrie" Stock was born in 1887 in Summerhill, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. Her parents were Michael and Caroline (Simendinger) Stock. The father was born in Austria, and the mother in Pennsylvania. Siblings were Otto, Mary Elizabeth, Annie, Helen "Minnie" and Irene.

At the time of the 1910 Federal Census, "Carry," age 22, was a trained nurse, working at a hospital. Her sister, Mary E. was "Training at hospital." Sisters, Annie and Irene were deceased by 1910.

By 1920, Carrie had married Joseph W. McCoy, a janitor at a parochial school. The couple lived in Pittsburgh and no occupation is listed for Carrie. In 1930, they were still in Pittsburgh - on Duffield Street - and Joseph was a furniture upholsterer.

Joseph W. McCoy, interior decorator, died January 19, 1935. According to his death record, he had resided at the same residence on Duffield Street. His death was due to "General Paralysis of the Insane" with Syphilis being the secondary cause. He was buried at Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh.

In 1940, Carrie is found in the census as an inmate at Mayview State Hospital. The record indicates that she had also been residing there in 1935.

Carrie Stock McCoy died on December 24, 1956, at which time she would have been 69 years old. [Her birth date is misstated on her death record.]. The record indicates that she had been admitted to Mayview on October 6, 1934. She died of "Cerebral Arterial Occlusion" related to CBS (Corticobasal syndrome) and a type (Illegible) of encephalitis that she had for 22 years. She is buried at St. Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
