BETTY SMITH DUCSAY - Passed away December 18, 2008, peacefully with her family at her side. Betty was born May 28th 1930 in West Frankfort, Illinois. Her family moved to a small town outside of Pittsburgh where she met her husband Chuck Ducsay. They enjoyed a wonderful marriage for close to 50 years living in Miami, Florida. Betty was an accomplished Registered Nurse and proudly practiced her profession for over 48 years in Miami as Nursing Supervisor at Miami Children's Hospital and in Redlands, California. Betty moved to California in 1993 after the passing of her husband Chuck. Her 2 sons Charley and Rob, her daughters-in-law Janet and Gabrielle and two grandsons Travis and Logan and her dog Sunny, survive her. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and a wealth of very close friends that she kept in touch with daily via Internet. Betty was a passionate woman who loved her life. She loved being a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, nurse and friend. Services will be held at St. Francis X Cabrini in Yucaipa on Tuesday Dec 30th at 11:00 am. Please consider a donation to the American Lung Association or a local animal shelter in lieu of flowers.
