OBITUARY
Marjorie S. Howell, 81, of Elizabeth Borough, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at home. She was born June 20, 1923, in Elizabeth Borough to the late Frank R. and Helen Pancoast Shoaf. During World War II, Mrs. Howell was an Army nurse in Hawaii and Japan for 16 months and attained the rank of second lieutenant. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethesda United Presbyterian Church, Elizabeth Borough.
Surviving are her husband, Alonzo C. Howell; daughters, Helen Howell, of South Park, and Maribel H. "Murph" Franklin, of Elizabeth Borough; sons, Dennis R. Howell, of Forward, and Lon A. Howell, of Denver, Colo.; sister, Mary Belle Storer, of Elizabeth Township; brother, William Shoaf, of Wilmington, Del.; grandchildren, Air Force Capt. Dennis H. Howell, of Tokyo, Japan, Kristen M. Honeycutt, of Troy, Ohio, and J.C. Prontiker, James S. Jr. and Alexis M. Stoupis, all of Elizabeth Borough; great-grandchildren, Hannah Prontiker and Hailey Honeycutt; nieces; nephews, and cousins.
Visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 221 Second St., Elizabeth Borough, where services will be at noon Saturday in the chapel, the Revs. Bruce Bryce and Lee Clark officiating.
