Born in Pennsylvania on November 16, 1892, Anna Marie Sheridan was the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (McKay) Sheridan, both born in Scotland, and residents of Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Thomas was a foreman in a coal mine. Anna's siblings were John, Loretta and Sarah.

"Anna M. Sheridan" is named in a 1922 history of the Pittsburgh Red Cross as a St. Francis graduate and a nurse at the University of Pittsburgh Base Hospital, No. 27 during World War I. She served with the American Expeditionary Forces during World War I, and is named in this article: Nurses Given Great Ovation By Pittsburgh. The Pennsylvania Department of Military Affairs Burial Record indicates that Anna served in the Army Nurse Corp from July 21, 1917 until March 22, 1919.

Anna married Joseph Egan. He died in 1949.

Anna Marie Sheridan Egan died February 25, 1970 and she is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
