OBITUARY: Frances Munson Frances Munson, 101, of 250 W. Seventh St., Emporium, PA died at her residence on Friday morning (October 12, 2018). She was born August 1, 1917 in Tidioute, PA a daughter of the late Pasquale Charles and Teresa Commende Scordo. On February 22, 1941 in Warren, PA she married the late Lawrence T. Munson who died Sept. 21, 2009. Mrs. Munson graduated from Hunter Memorial High School in the class of 1934 and from St. Francis School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse, in 1940. She obtained a Bachelor degree from Indiana University of PA & Masters degree from Penn State University. She worked in various capacities through out her career retiring, as a school nurse, from Cameron County School District. She was a member of the St. Mark Catholic Church in Emporium, the C.D. of A. the Rosary Society & was a member of the Cameron County Cardiac Committee & the Garden Club for over 50 years. She enjoyed collecting coins & stamps and painting. She is survived by twin sons, Stephen Munson, Emporium; and Kenneth Munson, Hughesville, PA; two grandchildren: Bradlee & Brittnee Munson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John Charles Munson who died in infancy in 1954 and a daughter, Joanne Munson in infancy, a brother, Leo Scordo and a sister, Mary Robinson. Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-5 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Thursday (October 18, 2018) at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 E. 4th Street, Emporium, PA 15834.
