HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: Francis R. Barch, 74, son of the late Stanley and Helen Kozlowsky Barch, of Monessen, went to see his Lord Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, after a 15-year battle with Parkinson's disease. Francis, a resident of Rostraver Township, is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Schumacher Barch, who was by his side; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Gino Parenti, of Wickhaven, and Helena and John Kuchta, of Fort Myers, Fla.; and son, Philip R. Barch, of Belle Vernon. Francis was blessed with nine grandchildren, Nikolas and Amie Parenti, Anastasia, Alexandra and John Kuchta, and Kayla, McKenzie, Khristyne and Kathryn Barch. Also surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Beatrice and Clayton Partridge, of Lincoln Park, Mich.; sister-in-law, Margaret Schumacher Lazzari, of Marco Island, Fla., formerly of Charleroi; brother-in-law, Charles and Caroline Schumacher, of Westminster, Md.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Francis graduated in 1956 from Monessen High School and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a master's degree in education. He was a retired teacher from the Pittsburgh Area Public Schools and Allegheny Vo-Tech, where he taught auto mechanics for more than 35 years. He was a member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver Township, Rostraver Lions Club, Mon Valley Radio Control Airplane Club and former commissioner and sewage authority officer in Rostraver Township. A past member of Rostraver Airport Authority and Westmoreland County Airport, Francis loved to fly his private plane with his wife to their annual vacations to the Bahamas. He was greatly loved and respected by many and will be sadly missed. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and owners at Hallsworth House, ViaQuest Hospice, Dr. John Holets and Father Vincent J. Gigliotti at the Church of St. Anne for all the care and concern shown in the last months of Francis' life. There will be no public visitation. A memorial funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, in the Church of St. Anne, Rostraver Township. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the JAMES C. OBITUARY: Barbara Louise (Schumacher) Barch, 82, of Rostraver Township, passed away early Sunday morning, September 15, 2019 at the Hallsworth House in Monessen. Born on February 25, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Edmund C. and Lena (Blotzer) Schumacher. - "Nurse Barb" to her friends or "Bubba" as she was affectionately known to her grandchildren was born and raised in Donora and graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1957. She met her husband of 54 years, Francis, at the Piggly Wiggly Skating Rink, and they spent the latter half of their marriage traveling regularly to the Bahamas and to their retirement home in Florida. Together they raised their three children in Rostraver Township, where they were both members of the Church of St. Anne. Barb worked as a supervisor at Monongahela Hospital before she joined Dr. Golomb's staff and volunteered her nursing skills to a number of organizations and neighbors. Barb dedicated countless years to Camp Fire Girls and its successor organization, Mon Valley Youth and Teen, where she served as a group leader, resident camp nurse and member of the executive board. She never tired of planning trips to Pittsburgh, Washington D.C. and the Bahamas to expose youth to the world outside the Mon Valley. Barb loved to record memories of her adventures, travels and family moments with photographs, and she leaves behind an unequaled collection of photograph albums as her legacy. - Barb was a cherished mother to Barbara Eileen (Gino) Parenti of Wickhaven and Helena "Leni" (John) Kuchta of West Palm Beach, FL; she was a beloved grandmother to Nikolas Parenti, Amie Parenti (Thomas) Sarnese, Anastasia Kuchta (Ryan) Dowie, Alexandra Kuchta, John Thomas Kuchta, Kayla Barch (Ryan) Keebler, McKenzie Barch, Khristyne Barch and Kathryn Barch; and a blessed great-grandmother to Elizabeth Keebler, Sophia Keebler and Thomas Sarnese; brother, Charles Schumacher; sister-in-law, Beatrice Partridge; nieces and nephews; Lisa Lazzari (Mark) Conner. Erin Lazzari (Ron) Khrovosky, Mathew (Merry) Lazzari, Deneen Schumacher (Tom) Calabrese, Charles (Lani) Schumacher, Andrew Schumacher and Mary Partridge; along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. - In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis R. Barch on February 10, 2013; son, Philip R.
