GERTRUDE SCANLIN HALLORAN died on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at the age of 98. She was the beloved wife of the late George F. Halloran & the cherished mother of Nancy L. Hutter, Janet R. Sieber and George F. Halloran, Jr.; also the beloved mother-in-law of Joseph Hutter, Phyllis Halloran and the late Jacob Sieber. She was an exceptional role model for her 17 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, who loved her dearly. Gertrude graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1927 and was honored in 2000 as that School's oldest living alumna. A member of St. Lawrence O'Toole Parish, she was active for many years in the Christian Mother's Society and the Parish's Senior Citizens Program, where her latent artistic skills were recognized. Gertrude's caring concern for her family and friends and her unceasing efforts to be of service to others will stand as a fitting memorial to her long and illustrious life. She will be so remembered by all who had the privilege to know her. Friends received at McCABE BROS., INC., FUNERAL HOME, 5300 Penn Ave., Bloomfield, on Monday and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm, where Funeral will commence on Wednesday 9 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Lawrence O'Toole Church 10 am.
