From Joseph Hayes, husband of Manilla: Manilla and Joel F. Zubovic divorced, and Manilla married Joseph C. Hayes in 1981. Manilla and Joseph, born on the same day in 1942, grew up on the same street, and graduated together from Donora High School in the Class of 1960. Manilla worked as an R.N. for 39 years.

HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: JOSEPH C. HAYES - Age 74, on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, Joseph of Pitcairn passed away peacefully after a four month health battle. Son of the late Joseph and Cecelia (McShane) Hayes; beloved husband of Manilla (Sala) of 35 years; loving father of Bibianna Goetz, of North Charleroi, Nadine Visnic, of Murrysville, and Jonelle (Michael) Hanawalt, of Greensburg; loving grandfather of Joshua and Breanna Goetz, Madeline Visnic, and Zachary and Samantha Hanawalt; also survived by sister-in-law, Janet Hayes of Castle Shannon; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brothers, Dennis and Thomas. Joe was a 1960 graduate of Donora High School and a 1969 graduate of California State College, California, PA. He served in the US Air Force from 1960-63. He was fluent in Russian, Spanish, and Italian. He worked at Thomas Jefferson High School as a Spanish and Russian teacher and for the US Internal Revenue Service.
