Class of 1954
Delia DiCarlo, age 92, wife of 66 years to Victor, mother to David (Mary), Mark (Sally), Dan (Molly), Valerie (David), and Tom (Lisa). Grandmother to Robyn, Matt, Tim, Tom, Mike, Lisa, Anna, Anthony, Nicholas, Christina, Teresa, Sophia, Gemma, and Dominic - with 18 great grandchildren.
Delia left an imprint on the hearts of everyone who met her. She will be remembered as a tireless servant with a heart for God. Her generous and loving service to her husband, family, church, musical organizations, charities, friends, neighbors and community was her way of life.
Her zealous curiosity for learning continued throughout her life starting with nursing school at St Francis, a Bachelor degree at the University of Pittsburgh, continuing education, and Osher classes at Carnegie Mellon University.
Delia loved and supported the arts, classical music through the Pittsburgh Symphony, Opera, Tuesday Musical Club, and the many Pittsburgh theater groups.
Her ambitious passion had her volunteering in many organizations including Meals on Wheels, nursing groups, and enjoying many activities such as tennis and bowling. As recently as a week ago she broke one of her bowling records!
Recently honored by the Christian Mother's, Delia was devoted to serving St Bonaventure (St Matthews) church in anyway she could serve her Lord.
The enormity of her presence and spirit will leave a cavernous hole in the DiCarlo family.
Family and friends will be received at Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, Inc. 2702 Mt. Royal. Glenshaw, PA., on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 1-3 p.m. The Funeral Service will immediately follow at 3.p.m with Rev. James R. Gretz of St. Matthew Parish, officiating.
Interment will be privately held at Mt. Royal Cemetery, Glenshaw, PA.
