Mrs. Anna Reardon Toohill, a graduate of the first class of the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, was born June 3, 1885 in Oil City, Pa. She was the daughter of Timothy Reardon (1840-1930) and Honora O'Shaughnessy (1860-1906), both born in Ireland.

Anna was employed at the Municipal Hospital in Pittsburgh at the time of the 1910 Federal Census. Other St. Francis nurses working there were Margaret McLaughlin, Mary St. Peter and Ida Fitzgerald.

Anna married Francis X. Toohill, Jr., a merchant. In 1920, they were living in Pitcairn, Allegheny County. At that time, her name was Anna G. In 1830, same address, her name is Honora G. Her birth name might have been Honora, the same name as her mother. Perhaps she used the name "Anna," just as her mother went by "Nora." In any case, her husband died in 1936, at which time she was listed as Anna in his obituary. In his estate settlement, she is listed as Honora.

At some point, she worked at the Leech Farm Tuberculosis Sanitarium, located at the East End section of Pittsburgh. According to her death certificate, she worked until November 1938.

She died of a cerebral hemorrhage, related to hypertension, on January 12, 1939. She is buried at Calvary Cemetery, Venango County, Pa.
