EARL G. "Pete" BARNES, 78, of Star Junction, passed away, Friday, Aug. 21, 2009. He was born Dec. 29, 1930, in Perryopolis, the son the late Charles and Martha Jenkins Barnes. Earl was a member of the American Legion, a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from Westinghouse after 10 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Lee Pike Barnes; one daughter, Cindy Gallik and husband John Robert, of North Huntingdon; one son, Tom Barnes and wife, Darlene of West Mifflin; three grandchildren, Brandon and Jessica Barnes, and Taylor Gallik; and two sisters, Dorothy Thurston, of Uniontown, and Peggy Hall of Jeanette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Lee, and Charles Barnes; and three sisters, Blanche Popp, Helen Russell and Mary Barnes. Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 305 Rear Independence St., Perryopolis, Sunday and Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Tuesday until 10 a.m., the hour of service with Rev. Kelley Schanely officiating. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or an animal shelter of your choice. Military rites will be accorded by VFW Gold Star Post 7023 and the American Legion 752 both of Perryopolis. [Source: TribLive Obituaries.]

OBITUARY: Virginia Lee (Pike) Barnes age 83 of Star Junction passed away Friday, October 9, 2015. Virginia was born on February 16, 1932 in Star Junction a daughter of William Thomas Pike and Josephine (Reel) Pike. - In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Earl G. Barnes. - Virginia is survived by her children: daughter, Cindy Gallik and her husband John Robert of North Huntingdon, son, Tom Barnes and his wife Darlene of West Mifflin; grandchildren: Brandon Barnes, Jessica Barnes and Taylor Gallik; sister, Lois Jenkins of Petaluma, CA. - Virginia’s family will receive friends today, Sunday October, 11, 2015 from 7-9 PM and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, Inc. 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA. Additional visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 until 11 AM, the hour of her funeral service with the Rev. Robert Rabenstein officiating. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
