Adele Petraitis served attained the rank of captain in Army Nurse Corps, U. S. Army, World War II.

In 1966, Adele Petraitis was on the nursing faculty at McKeesport Hospital and she was the secretary of the District Number 6, Pennsylvania Nurses' Association.

Adele R. Petraitis, born November 13, 1905, died April 27, 2000. The Adele Petraitis Endowed Scholarship was established by her estate to benefit undergraduate students at Duquesne University "enrolled in the School of Nursing who meet the need and merit requirements." She is buried at the Indiantown Gap Cemetery in Lebanon County, PA. A PHOTO of her grave is found at findagrave.com

Friends received SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 3501 Main St., Munhall, Saturday 7-9 p.m., Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Therese Church, Munhall. Served as an Army Captain in World War II in the European & China-Burma-India Theatres. Former member of SS. Peter & Paul Church, Homestead.
