HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: William E. Selep, age 84 of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, after a lengthy illness. He was born on September 20, 1926 in Oliver #1, PA, son of Joseph Selep, Sr. and Rose (Clay) Selep. - The last member of his immediate family, William was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Joseph Selep, Jr., and sisters, Eleanor Gazda, Ruth Kraynak, and Catherine Selep. - William retired from United States Steel Corp in 1985. He was a member of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, and lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47. During WWII and the Korean War he proudly served his country with the United States Army. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. - Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth M. (Pergalske) Selep; their children, Mary Beth Baker, R.N., and husband David of Washington, PA; and Atty. Joseph W. Selep and his wife Atty. Joni Selep of Upper St. Clair, PA; five grandchildren, Jill Kottner and husband William of Canonsburg, PA; Atty. Joshua Baker and wife Caitlin of Bethel Park, PA; Justin Selep, Joseph Selep, and Jordan Elizabeth Selep, all of Upper St. Clair, PA; and many nieces and nephews and their families. - Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, today December 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and on Friday, December 31, 2010 until 12:30 p.m. when prayers will be said. - A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 120 Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, PA, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Father John Joseph Gonchar, OFM as celebrant. - Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery, Hopwood, PA, where military honors will be accorded by AMVETS Post 103.


OBITUARY: Elizabeth M. (Pergalske) Selep, 89, formerly of Uniontown, passed away peacefully after a long illness, on Saturday, September 15, 2018, in Washington, Pa, where she moved to be closer to her family. Elizabeth was born on Monday, March 4, 1929, in Uniontown, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Rebar) Pergalske. - In addition to her parents, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 55 years, William E. Selep, on December 29, 2010. - Elizabeth was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, in Uniontown. She graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. Elizabeth worked as a Registered Nurse for 35 years until 1989, when she retired from the Uniontown Hospital, as the Clinical Nursing Supervisor of the Medical/Surgical Unit. Elizabeth was a proud mother, loving grandmother, and great grandmother who will be deeply missed. - Left to cherish her memory, are her children, Mary Beth Baker and her husband David, of Washington, PA; and Joseph W. Selep and his wife, Joni, of Upper St. Clair, PA; her grandchildren, Jill Kottner and her husband William, of Canonsburg, PA, Joshua Baker and his wife Caitlin, of Peters Twp, Justin, Joseph, and Jordan Elizabeth Selep, all of Upper St. Clair, PA; and her great grandchildren, Will, Rylie, and Piper Elizabeth Kottner, and Jack and Julia Baker. - Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Tuesday, September 18, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, September 19, until 11 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said. - The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Old Walnut Hill Rd., Uniontown, PA. - Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hopwood, PA.
