Class of 1945-J
While a student nurse at St. Francis, Edythe Pecora participated in the US, World War II Cadet Nursing Corps.
A news article, dated 1960, indicates that Captain Edythe Pecora visited with Captain (later Colonel) Martha Kaljnowksi, both in the United States Air Force. It erroneously states that Edythe and Martha "went into nursing school together and then entered the service together." Martha didn't graduate until 1951. Edythe apparently continued her nursing education at the University of Pittsburgh prior to enlisting.
Edythe Agnes Pecora, born in Pittsburgh, 38, daughter of Anthony F. Pecora and Mary D'Amato, married James Douglas Haney, 32, born in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, on December 10, 1962 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. James was also in the United States Air Force.
