SR. M. RICARDA PAHLER, OSF - On Tues. April 17, 2007. Daughter of the late Jacob & Bertha Pahler; sister of Rose Mary D'Alessandro, the late Richard, Regis and Paul Pahler, Alberta Horn, Anna Mae Dixon; sister-in-law of Betty Jane and Nancy Pahler; several nieces and nephews. Sr. Ricarda began her ministry as a Sr. of St. Francis of Millvale teaching in the middle grades at St. Joseph and St. George Schools in Pgh. After only three years in the classroom, she began to study nursing and remained in this ministry from 1940 until 1998, serving at St. Francis Medical Center in Lawrenceville and at St. Francis Hospital in Georgia. From 1968 to 1998, she was also the Nurse Supervisor at St. Francis Medical Center. When failing health brought her to the Motherhouse in 1998, Sr. Ricarda joined the sisters in Prayer Ministry. Visitation at the Mt. Alvernia Motherhouse Chapel, 146 Hawthorne Rd., Millvale, Thursday 2-8pm, Friday 2 until time of Funeral Mass at 5pm.
