Sarah "Sally" Bayer, age 87, of Scott Township, PA passed away after a long illness on June 9, 2023. She is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Anna O’Toole, formerly of Grindstone, PA. She is also predeceased by her loving husband, George F. Bayer, as well as her siblings Thomas O’Toole, Richard (Dick) O’Toole, Edward O’Toole, Anne (Moog) Doheny, Catherine (Kate) O’Leary, and Patricia (Trish) Finnegan. She will be dearly missed by her sons, George [Cindy] of Aiken, SC; Thomas [Karen] of Robinson Township, PA and Kurt of Scott Towship, PA. She was grandmother to Meghan and Evan Bayer of Aiken, SC. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Frances O’Toole and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Sally graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Pittsburgh with the Class of 1953. She also graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1956 and spent many years working as a Registered Nurse at St. Francis Hospital in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh.

Sally enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, spending time with family and friends, and watching old movies – including her favorite "The Quiet Man." One of the highlights of her travels was her visit to Ireland in the 1990’s.

Inurnment will take place at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. A Memorial Service and Luncheon will take place in the near future.

Sally’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at both Asbury Heights and St. Clair Hospital for all the care rendered to Mom during her illness.
