Cecilia O. Fuhrer, 92, of 4540 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, died at 4:16 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 2001, in the Transitional Care Unit of Northwest Medical Center at Oil City. She had been residing in Oil City with her brother for the past several months. Born Sept. 30, 1909, in Lucinda, she was a daughter of Henry and Mary Snyder O'Neill. She attended St. Joseph schools in Lucinda and St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. She received her master's degree from Incarnate Word University in San Antonio, Texas. Mrs. Fuhrer taught anatomy for many years at St. Francis School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Fuhrer was a gifted amateur artist and a volunteer, lending her time and talents to anyone who needed them. She was married in 1966 in St. Joseph Church, Lucinda, to Paul Fuhrer, who died in 1989. Surviving are a brother and his wife, John and Florence O'Neill of Oil City; a sister, Agnes O'Neill of San Antonio, Texas; a stepdaughter, Joan Ball, and a stepson, Douglas Janaszek, both of Chicora; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Fuhrer was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles O'Neill, Peter O'Neill, Henry O'Neill, James O'Neill and Patrick O'Neill; and three sisters, Mary Walsh, Alice Poole and Florence Gatesman. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today in the Reinsel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Church, Oil City, with Msgr. John W. Swoger, pastor, presiding. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
