OBITUARY

Barbara Ann O'Brien Martone Was member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church

Barbara Ann Martone, 73, of 2292 Columbus Drive, formerly of 2805 W. 32nd St., died Saturday, May 29, 2004, at Hamot Medical Center.

She was born March 12, 1931, in Allison Park, daughter of Ann Marinshaw O'Brien Cook of Pittsburgh and the late James O'Brien.

She graduated from Hampton High School in Allison Park in 1948 and from St. Francis Nursing School in 1951.

She was co-owner of Pretty Presents and taught ice-skating lessons at JMC Ice Arena. Prior to that, she worked as a registered nurse at Deshon Hospital in Butler.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and the Lake Erie Women's Group. She enjoyed swimming and traveling to the Seneca Niagara Casino.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Kristina and Lisa Martone.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Rudolph "Rudy" John Martone; three daughters, Maureen Sitter and her husband, Keith, Tracy Hawthorne and her husband, Dennis, and Patrice Middendorf and her husband, Billy, all of Erie; two sons, James Martone and his wife, Suzanne, and John Martone, all of Erie; two stepbrothers, Tom Cook and his wife, Angela, of Fairview and Charlie Cook and his wife, Louise, of Etna; one sister, Eileen Winters and her husband, Carl "Butz" Winters and one stepsister, Mary Ann Lynch and her husband, John, all of Allison Park; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry St. A service will be held there Wednesday at 10:15 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 2401 W. 38th St.

Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
