Class of 1929
Sarah Nicholas and her sister, Theresa (also Teresa), graduated together in the Class of 1929. Older sister, Margaret graduated in 1926.
At the time of the 1930 Federal Census, Sarah and Margaret were residing on Penn Ave. in a home that also housed nurses, May McNelis, Class of 1926, and Kathleen O'Regan, Class of 1928. By 1940, the three Nicholas sisters were living together.
Sarah, Margaret and Theresa were daughters of John Nicholas and Annie Kirk. By the time Sarah married in 1941, her father was deceased.
Sarah A. Nicholas was residing at 1565 Trinity Street, Pittsburgh, when she applied for a license to marry Francis R. Baker, a clerk who resided at 4426 Penn Ave. Sarah indicated she was born in Ireland on January 23, 1901. The marriage took place in Pittsburgh on May 20, 1941.
Francis and Sarah lived in East Liberty. Francis Baker, born November 15, 1894, died in June 1984. Sarah died March 8, 1975. She is buried at St. Augustine Cemetery.
