HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: ANDREW F. STRCULA Age 74, of Uniontown, peacefully returned to the loving arms of God on Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Beloved and dedicated husband of 50 wonderful years of Mary (Mikula) Strcula. Very proud and loving father of Dr. Jason Strcula and his wife, Dr. Juliette Murcko. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Anna Kozak Strcula, brother Robert and sister, Martha Arendash. Andrew was a life long member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church. He was a graduate of the former North Union High School Class of 1952. In addition to being a basketball player, he was an avid baseball player. Andrew competed on several county league teams. He served in the Army's 429th Engineer Battalion. He pursued his career as a highway designer for PENNDOT for 35 years. Andrew enjoyed gardening and loved sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. He was a Steelers and Penguins fan. Andrew always lent a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. He was an inspiration to us all with his deep love for God and his family. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Friends and relatives will be received at the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Extension, Uniontown, PA, on Friday from 2-9pm and on Saturday, April 18, until 9:15am when prayers will be said. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 North Mount Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA with Rev. Father Micah E. Kozoil as celebrant. Interment will be held at St. Mary (Nativity) Cemetery, Uniontown, PA. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. Mary (Nativity) R.C. Church Building Fund, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Parish Wake Service will be held on Friday at 3:30pm. - Pitsburgh Post-Gazette, April 16, 2009

OBITUARY: Mary R. (Mikula) Strcula of Uniontown, PA, passed away on May 29, 2020 at the Uniontown Hospital. - She was born on October 20, 1937 in Uniontown, to the late Matthew J. and Helen (Bealko) Mikula. - She was the loving wife of Andrew F. Strcula who preceded her in death in 2009. Her brother, Thomas Mikula of North Huntingdon, PA also preceded her in death. - Mary is survived by her devoted son, Dr. Jason E. Strcula of Pittsburgh, PA, and the following brothers and sisters: Carol Sikora of Uniontown, PA; Matthew J. and Maria (Burns) Mikula of Olney, MD; James E. Mikula of Ligonier, PA; and Jacqueline and Dr. Thomas Verney of Boiling Springs, PA; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Mikula of North Huntingdon, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. - Mary graduated from St. John High School in Uniontown, and was a lifelong member of St. Mary (Nativity) Church, Uniontown, PA. She was a Registered Nurse, graduating from St. Francis School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA. She worked at Uniontown Hospital in the Maternity Ward for several years until the birth of her son. - Not only a superb baker and seamstress, and hostess of family holiday dinners, she was an avid Steelers fan and voracious reader. She was her son’s best friend, and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. - In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to St. Mary (Nativity) Church. - Family and close friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Ext., Uniontown, PA on Thursday morning, June 4, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said. Please observe social distancing practices and wear protective masks. - The Funeral Mass will follow on Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 N. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA. Interment will follow at St. Mary (Nativity) Cemetery Uniontown, PA.
