OBITUARY: Elizabeth Emma “Mickey” (Miklos) Matisko, 84, of Natrona Heights, PA, died on Monday, July 17, 2017 with her family by her side at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford, PA. Elizabeth was born on Wednesday, March 22, 1933 in Brackenridge to the late Steven and Julia (Roman) Miklos. She graduated from Har-Brack High School Class of 1951 then went to St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing to become a registered nurse and worked at the VA Hospital. Elizabeth later received a Master of Education with a Reading Specialist Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh and taught at Heights Elementary School, Highlands School District, as a Reading Specialist until her retirement. Elizabeth was a member of the Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish in Natrona Heights. She enjoyed card club with her friends and gardening, but she lived her life for her family, especially her grandchildren, with whom she diligently attended all extracurricular activities and loved cooking, especially Sunday dinner for the entire family. Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Michael Matisko; her 2 children: Michael (Janice) Matisko of Cheswick and Lisa (Leonard) Cyterski of Pittsburgh; 7 grandchildren: Kelsey, Morgan, and Nathan Matisko and Nicole, Mark, Natalie, and Megan Cyterski; and her sister, Irene (Joseph) Witucki. - She was preceded in death by her parents. - The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at UPMC Passavant Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospice at Wexford who treated their mom with respect and dignity to the end. - Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM on Thursday, July 20 at Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 800 Montana Ave., Natrona Heights with the Fr. Aaron J. Kriss presiding. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Private burial will follow at Mount Airy Cemetery.
