OBITUARY
LOIS ANN McKINLEY DETTLINGER
Lois was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on November 6, 1943, and died at St. Margaret's Hospital on July 31, 2014, following a serious illness. She had devoted over 50 years to her nursing profession. She was a graduate of St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing and received a BSN and master's in health education from Pennsylvania State University. She spent most of her years in various positions at St. Francis Hospital and was the director of the Alvernia School of Practical Nursing until it closed. Her recent employment was at the Vincentian de Marillac Nursing Center in Stanton Heights. Lois is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Robert Dettlinger; and her adorable pets, Harley, Franklin, and Phoebe; as well as cousins, dearest friends, and stepchildren. Lois was an extraordinary lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her as a feisty, determined, dedicated and loyal friend. A Memorial Service will be held at Vincentian de Marillac Chapel, August 20, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements trusted to D'ALESSANDRO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, LTD., Lawrenceville. Entombment was in the Allegheny Cemetery in Lawrenceville, PA.
