REGINA NATALIE MAJEWSKI SHALONIS

While a student nurse at St. Francis Hospital, Regina participated in the U. S. World War II Cadet Nursing Corps.

Regina Natalie Majewski was born in Pittsburgh on June 5, 1924. Her parents were Walter F. Majewski and Leona C. Czarnowski.

Regina Majewski is found in the 1930 Federal Census living on Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, with her parents, Walter and Leona (Czarnowski?) Majewski, and her sister, Eleanor. The father, born in Poland, was the proprietor of a confectonary store. In 1940, the family lived on Kincaid Street, Pittsburgh, and the father worked in a steel mill.

MOTHER'S OBITUARY: Pittsburgh Press, May 13, 1989 - MAJEWSKI, Leona, age 88, on May 10, 1989 in Tucson, AZ, beloved wife of the late Walter Majewski; grandmother of the late Stephen Shalonis; survived by two daughters, Mrs. John (Regina) Shalonis of Tucson and Mrs. Elmer (Eleanor) Taylor of Pgh.; also two granddaughters, Marianne Shalonis Hester of Tucson and Michelle Taylor Sherwood of Pgh., and one great-frandson, Jon Michael Hester; also survived by one sister, Mrs. Phyllis Hannes of Dunedin, FL. Funeral private, interment in St. Ladislaus Cemetery, Pgh.

Regina Majewski Shalonis died in Arizona on July 8, 1998.
