Emily Jane Mahoney, Nurse, 24, born in Sewickley, Pa., daughter of Townsend Mahoney and Catherine Kolar, married Doctor Manuel Testagorda Martin, 33, born in the Phillipines, and a resident of St. Francis Hospital. The marriage took place at Frederick County, Virginia on October 13, 1956.
Doctor Martin died on February 13, 2002. Apparently, Emily's second husband is Rudy Pahalla and they reside in Baden.
MOTHER'S OBITUARY: Catherine Ann Mahoney, 104, a resident of the Villa St. Joseph for the past 5 years, formerly of Baden died Saturday, June 6, 2015, in Heritage Valley Health System, Sewickley. - She was born September 21, 1910, in Struthers, OH, to the late Martin and Mary Kolar. She was oldest member of the Baden United Methodist Church. Catherine enjoyed 104 years of good health and even in her last years was actively involved in many activities at the Villa St. Joseph. She enjoyed playing the bell chimes and singing in the choir. She recently was featured in a news story when she traveled to The Little Sisters of the Poor on a bus to perform for them. She bowled from her wheelchair and enjoyed playing bingo and many other games at the Villa. - Preceding her in death, in addition to parents, were her husband, Townsend L. Mahoney, July 21, 1987; four brothers, Martin, George, Joseph, and Tom Kolar and a sister, Ann Forney. - Surviving are four children, Emily (Rudy) Puhalla of Baden, Robert (Ruth) Mahoney of Canonsburg, PA, Lois Mahoney of West Palm Beach, FL, and Audrey Adrian of Georgetown, PA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and a special friend at the Villa St. Joseph, Josie Walton. Catherine was a loving mother and kind hearted person and enjoyed spending time with her many friends. - Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where a funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. by her pastor, the Rev. Andrew Vernor. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
