In the 1920 Federal Census of Butler, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, enumerated in January 1920, Ruth L. was 1 year, 6 months old. She was the youngest child of George and Estella Lucas. Her siblings were Raymond, Edna, Mabel, Ethel, Mary, and Edith. Another brother, George Morgan Lucas, was born in 1924.

The father, George Lucas, died on May 30, 1940. The mother, Estella (Morgan), died in Butler in July 1967. They are buried at St. Johns Cemetery, Butler.

HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: Carl W. Beck, 88, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, formerly of Butler, died Saturday evening at Wheeling Hospital in West Virginia. Born Sept. 25, 1918, in Butler, he was a son of Aloysius and Agatha Binder Beck.A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he served with the Marine Air Corps for 20 years. He then worked in plant security at Armco-Butler Works for 20 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, where he was a Eucharistic minister, served in the parish council and was a past president of the parish council. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 866 and Tanglewood Senior Center and had done volunteer work there for many years. He had enjoyed swimming and gardening.Surviving are his wife, Ruth L. Lucas Beck, whom he married Sept. 10, 1946; a son, Carl Raymond Beck of Harrisburg; two daughters, Mary Weiland of Easton, Pa. and Rose Kutlenios of St. Clairsville, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A sister, Dorothy Stern of Butler; two brothers, George Beck of Butler and Howard Beck of Herman; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. -- Beck - Friends of Carl W. Beck, who died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Raymond Trance, parochial vicar, will officiate. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday at the church.Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N.
