DOROTHY J. KESSLER CLINE

Class of 1927

While a student nurse at St. Francis Hospital, Dorothy J. Kessler participated in the U. S., World War II, Cadet Nursing Corps. According to her membership cards, she was born on September 8, 1926, the daughter of Andrew Kessler, a proprietor. She lived on Ligonier Street, Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.

Dorothy's mother, Veronica Smetana (Later, Smith) Kessler, died of a coronary occlusion on April 16, 1938, age 45. In the 1930 census record, she is "Florence."

The U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims Index indicates that Dorothy Joan Cline, daughter of Andrew Kessler and Veronica Smith, was born in Derry, Pennsylvania on September 8, 1926, and died on October 14, 2000. Her last known residence was Amarillo, Texas. Her husband was Gordon Keith Cline, whose death occurred on May 4, 1974 at Potter County, Texas.

SISTER'S OBITUARY: Margaret T. "Peg" Salko, 89, of Unity Township, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, in the Greensburg Care Center. She was born Nov. 19, 1921, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Andrew Kessler Sr. and Florence (Smith) Kessler. Peg was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Latrobe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Salko in 1985; six sisters, Emma Yanosey, Josephine Houpt, Mary Patrick, Helen Sewatsky, Dorothy Cline and Erma Guskiewicz; and her brother, Andrew Kessler Jr.......
